About This Quote

That's one of the first things that comes out of young people's mouths when they're in love. FOREVER. And that's cool, it's all good-until you get old enough to realize what forever is. Forever is one of the most overused words in the English language.

It doesn't really mean anything anymore. It just means leave it at this point and go on to the next bit of information. Saying something like, “I'll love you forever” is no different than saying, "I'll love you for awhile." It describes a period of time that will last for the rest of your life, but once that period has passed, it becomes meaningless.

It's like saying, "I'll do something cool next week," but then not doing anything cool at all.
